At the very least, stop contaminating it!
I think everyone should help by keeping their yards clean.
No. It’s time for Americans to launch into space and leave this planet to all the people who don’t have a space program.
I don’t know what’s going on in your neck of the woods, but that’s been going on for at least 10 years, around here.
Super-site cleanup is a major priority in the town in which I live. Oh, and I live in a “red-state.”
I’ll add this: Our former mayor, who master-minded our cleanup was just sent to Congress (Bob Corker), in case anyone cares.
Sure. I have always said we need to clean the environment, even though I think it will do nothing to stop global warming.
The problem is, the guys like Al Gore put cleaning the environment in the same category as global warming. After this, the people who don’t agree with the global warming theory feel they have to go out of their way to further destroy the environment, as sort of a protest.
The media should say what YOU just said, instead of preaching about global warming all day.
I think that’s probably not convenient for a lot of folks.
I agree and our environmental policies shouldn’t be political fodder..and political favor…..There are so many beautiful things that are being lost…But I do remember as a child all the streams had soap bubbles…and tires…some things are better but there is so much more industry now.
Yes. We need to be good stewards of our environment.
We should all be environmentally conscious. Personally I try to do my part. I do not litter. I recycle. I don’t drive when I can walk and my wife and I carpool to work. I turn off lights and appliances when I am not using them and engage in various other environmentally friendly efforts. If everyone does even a little the effects can be dramatic. However, I am sick of being painted as environmentally evil by many just because I do not choose to believe an as yet unproved theory.
Well, Michigan is doing nothing. We are importing all of Canada’s trash into our state for a few years. yes, the same state with the poorest economy and the same state with the great lakes
*sigh*
I can remember when roadside dumping was as common as roadside convenience stores. When the county dumps got full of waste that at that time wasn’t managed by bulldozing or anything it simply got moved to another location. People that didn’t want to drive all the way to the county dump just dumped their trash beside the road in a ditch and more people just followed along. They even dumped old cars at these sites so we have come a long way but we still have more to go. Our biggest problem now is toxic waste.
I cannot figure out why people believe that we are not cleaning up our environment to give you people an illustration, I live in NYC in the 60’s when they had pollution day alert warning most of the elderly not to go out that day, the Hudson river was a cesspool.
I went back to visit in 2004 the view from the top of the Empire State building was crystal clear in the 60’s you could not even see the street below, people are fishing in the Hudson river. For all you alarmist the constant cry about not cleaning up our environment is patently false, if you want to say “not enough” that is what needs to be debated.
Mother Nature will take only so much abuse, then she will become a Terrorist like no other! Have a nice day. GREAT QUESTION!
Absolutely. I cannot understand why that would not be part of everyone’s commitment for the privilege of enjoying life on Earth; sort of like wiping yourself after using the bathroom. Second nature.
People who are seriously into outdoor recreation (hey, all you sportsmen out there!!) like myself (canoeist) understand intimately the idea of leaving no tracks; of cleaning up behind yourself. Whenever we’re on a journey, we always manage to fill up the extra garbage bag with refuse left behind by people with no conscience.
Start with little things if you have to, like riding a bike for that loaf of bread or errand instead of driving the car.
More than ever, my neighbor the Republican likes to throw dirty diapers on the ground outside of our complex. She is disgusting, but lives for Pat Robinson and George Bush. I say take all of the trash out, and with cleaning up the environment.
Yes, I think the environment needs to be cleaned up. Might I add that my state is doing alot of things strangely similar to what Ruth’s state is doing. Funny how that works ; )
