Thank you for being so thoughtful. Be a “green champion”, learn everything you can about being green, lead by example, spread the “good word”, show them how it’s done …. it’s not that difficult if I can do it so can you. x
you may help by joining those who work to drive conservation programs. Educate your friends of the ongoing programs as a way to spread the idea and how they too may help. visit
Sustainable practices need to sustain and gain momentum
Lead by example. If you live the life you’d like everyone you care about to lead, if you talk the talk and walk the walk, and are happy with your life, people will sit up and take notice. If you preach and point your finger, people tune you out.
This works best if you save time and energy to learn more about conservation issues, so that when people turn to you — and they will — you will be ready with good informative answers.
And volunteering. I can’t say enough about getting out there and meeting other people with similar concerns and interests. It helps keep you going and you get to meet and know a lot of people who are very much worth knowing, and in the meantime accomplish a worthy goal.
If you still go to school, start a club about it :]
thats probably the easiest way to raise awareness.
Myspace, E-mails, Yahoo, Google, websites, all different things. You can talk about it give speaches in clubs. Basically anything. BE LOUD BE PROUD AND BE GREEN!
With an understanding of other other issues facing your peers, patience, self respect, humour, friendship and quiet determination.
Let them see what you are doing. Teach by example.
How do you define a “clean” environment. What we might think of as trashy, insects might find heavenly.
Hey, I have an important point. Did you know that Fluorescent light bulbs have mercury in them? When you throw them out or they get in rivers your still not helping the environment. Your putting dangerous chemicals into nature.
By setting an example. Explain why you make lifestyle choices without being preachy or sanctimonious. Live what you believe, but respect the choices of others. They, in turn, are more likely to respect you and follow you example.
start a myspace page! you would be suprised how many people you can influence through myspace!
